Howard Yaffe is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker with more than 25 years of experience. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Boston University and a Master’s Degree in Social Work from Simmons College School of Social Work. He has practiced social work for more than 25 years with children, adolescents, adults, and families and is experienced with groups, couples, and families. Howard works closely with each client to help them to clarify and develop their own goals and pace for treatment. He routinely combines a solution-focused, cognitive-behavioral approach that utilizes his clients’ innate abilities and strengths. He relies heavily on a non-judgmental, empathic style in working with his clients. Areas of particular expertise include helping individuals with issues of depression and anxiety, interpersonal skill-building, and helping families manage learning disabilities in children. He also has considerable experience with issues related to domestic violence and divorce/separation issues.
